The Bus Floor Plan
Our current floor plan is pretty basic. We have to have a
place for 2 adults and 2 children.
We looked at several dozen motor homes and learned that we do
not like to see the back of the bus from the front. Most of the designs
that we all liked the most had the hallway to the back section of the bus off to
one side instead of down the center. We also don't generally close doors
in our existing house most of the time, so having a layout that allowed for some
level of privacy without having to close a door was also put into the
plan.
The front of the bus will be the living area as well as a
sleeping area for the adults. It will have a couch that converts into a
queen size bed (futon style I imagine), a desk, entertainment center and storage
cabinets
The second section will be a kitchen and dining area. The
kitchen will have a refrigerator, sink and stove. Across from
the kitchen counter area will be a table and chairs. The table will be
attached to the wall with room for 2 people and fold out to accommodate 4 people
if necessary.
The third section will be home to the bathroom and
clothing/laundry storage area. Across
from them we will have a large area to store clothes that will be plumbed for a
washer/dryer combo that will be installed later.
The back of the bus will be a bedroom for the kids with large
storage drawers under both beds.
