(Halloween 1999 slideshow)
|
1999 was the first year that I had access to a
digital camera, so it is the first year that I have any photos of
Halloween that I can easily post on the web. There are quite a few
years previous to 1999 that I only have on video tape. Until I get
up the energy to tackle transforming our old 8mm and VHS C videos into
still images and digital video this is the earliest year that I will post
on this web.1999 was a lot of fun despite the fact that I didn't really
have any props other than the animated ghost to start with. It was
our 2nd year celebrating at the same address. My friend Dave
and I built a bit of a haunted maze along side of the house expecting a
ton of kids. Unfortunately, it rained the entire week leading up
to (and including) Halloween. We only had about a dozen kids walk
through our maze and the rain made us pull some of the props so that
they wouldn't get ruined. The rain made Dave and I close the maze
early and hang out inside the house.
I know it's twisted, but what I enjoyed most was that throughout the
evening we heard cars slamming on the brakes to avoid collisions on the
road in front of the house. Cars were slowing down to check out
the ghost and causing chaos on the street. Every time we heard
squealing tires everyone in the house cheered...
