2004 was really tough. I lost my job of 8 years in 2003 and we
ended up losing everything we owned in the the process. We had to
sell off everything we could to make our mortgage payments and try to
buy down our debt... I was depressed and felt lost. Bottom
line, we didn't make it through it all with much left over and ended up
losing the house. We had to start over.
Not a whole lot to share with everyone (unfortunately) related to
Halloween 2004. We moved in late August into an apartment a few
hours from where we used to live. I did a lot of work trying to get
our new apartment decorated, but Halloween just didn't add up to much.
It's hard to build and create without a space, time, money and tools...
The props were scarce. I only had time to build an
animated ghost and prop the skeleton in the window downstairs.
There were a few pumpkins and some eerie sounds to be heard, but not the
usual over the top effort.
We only had about a dozen or so kids stop by. It was freezing
cold. I hope that we're here long enough to build up a
reputation in this new neighborhood and get the crowds that we once
had...
