Well, we finally got a start on Halloween this year...

I couldn't take it anymore and while we were out shopping I just had to stop and take a look at some of the Halloween goodies that were on display.

We ended up driving all over town looking at just about every department store and spending a little over $100.00 on costumes and various Halloween related items.

The girls obviously decided to become a couple of witches.  We made some minor modifications to the stock costumes to make them fit the girls a bit better, but other than that, their costumes are right off the hanger.  We bought them a couple of small brooms and a cauldron to complete the look.

A couple of witches

As for me, well, you can see that I found something that I liked.  I'm debating if I should give away the secret or not.  ...Oh, what the heck.  I actually bought 2 identical costumes so that I could pull off a bit of a scare this Halloween.

One of the costumes will be on a grave jumper that will be near the front of the house.  I figure that everyone will figure out that it's just a prop at some point.  Once they are ready to leave, I will jump out at them from a slightly different location and make them really scream.

Zombie time

OK, it's time to get out some of the goodies that I have been collecting.

I picked up a projector at a local yard sale last year with the idea of using it to make a ghost projector at Halloween.  It wasn't in too bad of shape and I only paid $2.00 for it.  I had to repair the mounting bracket a bit to make it sturdy again, but other than that, it has all of the parts and works pretty well.

My plan is to add a small rotating mirror to in front of the lens so that I can make an image move.  I have a small AC 4 R.P.M. motor that only draws 3 Watts.  My plan is to wire it in to the existing wiring of the projector and mount it in front of the lens.  The mirror will be removable so that I can still use the projector as a still image projector.
