Today was a bit hectic. First thing this morning I had to run and pick
up another box and packing supplies so I could ship off another Grave Jumper
platform. I am now completely out of supplies to make any more until after
Halloween. The last 2 are spoken for already...
I spent most of the day searching around town for various bits and pieces
that I need to finish up the Grave Jumper for Little Pizza Paradise here in
Bend. The owners Deb & Kirby seem pretty excited about the project so far.
I gave myself a deadline of Friday to get the prop finished and thoroughly
tested. I want it to run flawlessly so that they don't have to do anything
but play. I made quite a few modifications to my standard pop-up platform so
that the prop would have good height, come forward quite a bit and yet still fit
in the barrel.I also moved the controls (regulator and bypass valve) outside
the barrel so that adjustments can be made easily.
| The initial testing tonight proved that the
modifications will work well. The new pop-up really comes up and
out at you. I added a mask to add a little character. I made a
couple of videos of the prop. One from the front (shown by
clicking on the image to the right) and one from the side that you can
check out by clicking here. |

All in all it was a pretty successful day of testing. I still have not
made up my mind if I will construct a lid for the barrel or not. Both
having a lid and being open have their advantages and disadvantages, so I'll
leave that up for tomorrow... |
