I did some playing around with a design for an improved fog chiller.  After several hours and many trips to different stores, I came up with something that allows all of the fog to come through and yet makes it stay 2-3 inches off the floor.

The down side...  It takes up as much room as an easy chair and burns through huge amounts of ice in a matter of hours.

The design makes use of a large cooler filled about 1/4 of the way with water and then topped off with ice.

A pond pump circulates the water through a automotive heater core that I got for free from a local radiator repair place.

The fog machine and heater core are sealed in a box and the fog can only escape by flowing through the heat exchanger.

The idea was to put together a quick prototype so I could test my ideas as cheaply as possible.  You'll notice that I temporarily used a cardboard box to house the fog machine and heater core...
