October 7th 2007
A lot has happened in the past few days. The haunt is really starting
to look more like a haunted house. The front hall turned out better than I
had originally expected. Nice and creepy with shredded window dressings
and all.
I have been meaning to take pictures, but I usually don't get finished
working until late in the afternoon and I am too tired after cleaning up tools
and supplies to think about anything other than getting home, taking a hot
shower and having a few beers before bed. The past 2 days I have had a
cold with sore throat and headache, so that has also sapped my energy.
Today I am still sore, but not fighting a headache or sore throat, so I put in
some extra time at the haunt this evening.
Casting introductions happen on Thursday. Opening night for the haunt is this coming Friday, so I am concentrating on
getting the pneumatic props up and running. The construction on the haunt
is basically finished so now it's lighting, sound and decorations. There
are 3 grave jumpers and 3 new pneumatic props that are going into the haunt by
Thursday. Next week I plan to add a bit more before the 2nd weekend.
By the 3rd weekend the haunt should be at peak performance. Halloween falls on a
weekday this year, so it's hard to say how many will show up on Halloween night,
but we'll have a serious cast & crew party after we shut down...
Sorry no pictures today - I will do my best to have Becky remind me at lunch
tomorrow to take a walk through the haunt and snap off a few photos with the
emergency lighting on. |
